Support Movember
Help stop men dying too young: support Movember
Every November, the moustache gives us a reason to start a conversation. But Movember is about much more than facial hair. It brings attention to the health issues that affect men and boys, and supports work in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
I’m raising funds for these causes because they touch the lives of our dads, brothers, sons, partners, friends and mates. A diagnosis, a difficult period with mental health, or the loss of someone to suicide can affect an entire family and community.
Why this matters
You may have seen the message that men die, on average, six years earlier than women. The figure depends on the population and source: Movember’s current Australian campaign reports around four years in Australia and 4.5 years globally. The difference is a reminder that men’s health deserves attention throughout the year, not only when a problem becomes hard to ignore.
Movember focuses on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Donations support programs and research across these areas. The charity also encourages men to look after their health, stay connected and reach out when they need support.
How you can help
If you’re able, please consider making a donation through my Mo Space. Every contribution helps support Movember’s work. Sharing the page or talking about men’s health with someone you care about also helps keep these issues in view.
